I'm a Scottsdale, Arizona native and Northern Arizona University graduate.  Because I've lived in the Valley all of my life, I've witnessed its evolution from a farming community to a bustling hub for many Fortune 500 companies.  I can actually remember when Bell Road was a dirt road, and now it's a major Scottsdale thoroughfare.
